Defekte DVD LINUX INTERN 02/2007
Beim Mastering der Heft-DVD Linux Intern 02/2007 ist ein Fehler unterlaufen. Data Becker und Thomas Drilling beauftragten mich, eine effiziente, einfach anzuwendende Lösung auszuarbeiten, die alle Beteiligten zufriedenstellt. Diese basiert auf Jigdo und puzzelt die falsch benannten Dateien zur Original-openSUSE-DVD zusammen. Der Download beträgt lediglich 4MB (inclusive Tools)!
So geht’s unter Windows (getestet unter XP SP2, openSUSE 10.2 DVD erstellen):
- Laden Sie die Datei Linux_Intern_0207_fix.zip herunter und kopieren Sie den enthaltenen Ordner Linux_Intern_0207_fix auf eine Partition mit wenigstens ca. 4GB freiem Platz.
- Doppelklicken Sie die Datei MAKEDVD.bat. Sie werden nun mit dem Prompt “Files to scan:” nach dem Pfad des DVD-Laufwerkes gefragt, in dem die DVD von Linux Intern 02/2007 liegt, beispielsweise D:\ (Screenshot)
- Jetzt wird die Erstellung des Images begonnen, bricht aber wegen einiger fehlender Dateien ab. Jigdo erlaubt aber die Eingabe weiterer Suchpfade. Geben Sie missing ein, dieses Verzeichnis enthält die fehlenden Dateien. (Screenshot)
- Jetzt wird die Erstellung des ISOs fortgesetzt. Am Ende steht die automatische Überprüfung des ISO-Images. (Screenshot)
- Brennen Sie das fertige DVD-Image openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-i386.iso mit dem Brennprogramm Ihrer Wahl im Modus “Image brennen” auf einen DVD5-Rohling.
Eine Version, die auch Batch-Dateien für die Erstellung der fünf CDs mitbringt, ist ebenfalls verfügbar (Download Linux_Intern_0207_fix_CD-Set.zip), aber mit 31MB recht groß und wird nicht supported. Diese erlaubt die Installation auch auf Rechnern, die Probleme mit selbstgebrannten DVDs haben. Zudem lassen sich CD-Images im Gegensatz zu DVD-Images auch unter Windows XP mit der Freeware Isorecorder (unter Vista funktionieren auch DVD-Images) komfortabel aus dem Kontextmenü brennen. Für die Basisinstallation mit KDE oder Gnome sind lediglich die CDs 1 bis 3 erforderlich.
So geht’s unter Linux:
- Wechseln Sie in den Ordner Linux_Intern_0207_fix.
- Setzen Sie die Dateirechte von jigdo-lite und jigdo-file auf “ausführbar”: chmod +x jigdo-lite; chmod +x jigdo-file
- Passen Sie die Pfad-Variable an: export PATH=./:$PATH
- Mounten Sie die Linux-Intern 02/2007 DVD
- Starten Sie Jigdo unter Angabe des Jigdo-Files: ./jigdo-lite openSUSE-10.2-GM-DVD-i386.jigdo
- Auf die Frage “Files to scan:” geben Sie den Mountpoint der DVD an.
- Sollte die Erstellung des ISOs abbrechen und der erneute Prompt “Files to scan:” auftauchen, geben Sie bitte den Ordnernamen missing ein.
Die fertige CD/DVD kann mit K3B oder cdrecord gebrannt werden.
Linux-Anwender, deren Distribution ein halbwegs aktuelles Jigdo mitbringt, kommen mit 624kB Download aus: Linux_Intern_0207_fix_Linux_only.zip. Die Vorgehensweise entspricht weitestgehend der beim “normalen” Paket, Schritt 2 und 3 fallen weg, bei 5 ist das vorangestellte ./ wegzulassen.
